“Postmodernism is just a form of artistic criticism”
Well, I think we’re starting off with a questionable assumption. Post-modernism is a cultural zeitgeist that cuts across almost all intellectual disciplines. It’s based on a lot of untestable assumptions that should be questioned by any rational intellectual. Inciting fear? Nah, that’s just a way any scribbler captures attention.
Also, after reading this article I’m not exactly sure what a conservative is, beyond somebody who seems to be opposed to modern liberalism, or statism. (See, liberalism is a hard term to pin down too, as is socialism these days. Language has become inaccurate, probably due to post-modernists like Chomsky. If anything, we should probably eschew anything that muddies the waters.)
But “conservative” as used to describe Talk Radio hosts is a bit specious, no? They’re mostly entertainers attacking some of the absurdities of modern liberalism. (Yes, Peterson is a classical liberal, as is Victor Davis Hanson.) For some reason, liberal critiques of conservative absurdities don’t translate well into successful radio shows. For that we have the Daily Show and Late Night TV, where apparently visual cues signal the sarcasm and ridicule for the audience’s entertainment.
